The Kalinago Territoy is located on Dominica’s beautiful east coast, stretching from Bataca in the north to Sineku in the south. Throughout the territory there are dozens of hamlets to explore, a rich cultural heritage to experience and many beautiful natural attractions to discover.
Here some "Must-sees"
Kalinago Barana Autê
The KBA offers a unique experience, sharing the history and traditions of the Kalinago people from hundreds of years ago. It is a world of colour and pageantry, where the nation's first people's talent and pride are abundant.

L’Escalier Tête Chien
L’Escalier Tête Chien features in the Kalinago origin myth. It is a natural staircase rising out of the Atlantic Ocean. According to legend, it is the path left from an enormous boa constrictor (tête chien) as it made its way out of the sea to establish the first Kalinago village.
Church at Salybia
The Church at Salybia features an altar that is actually a traditional Kalingo canoe. Colourful murals adorn both the interior and exterior walls. The design follows the traditional Kalinago Karbet shape.

Home Stay Program
You can also stay with a Kalinago family and learn ancient hunting and fishing practices, herbal remedies, traditional cooking methods and much more.
Madjini Pool
Just a short hike from L’Escalier Tête Chien, you will find Madjini Pool. Kalinago legend has it that a mermaid lives here, under the rock in the pool. Refresh yourself in this beautiful spot.
